Way to the Future — Katie Herzig

Whitember has created a situation in introducing me to Katie Herzig’s new album. This music. It is poppy, happy, and addictive.

The problem is that certain sections of “Way to the Future” make me want to dance, but not normal dancing. Are you familiar with Sweet Dee’s dance off against the Green Inflatable Guy on Always Sunny? Yep. 

All I know is there are two guys and one gal somewhere out there who got a little interpretive dance with their library experience, and I think the least they could’ve done was tip me for all the time they stood there. I also accept vending machine contributions.

Thanks for posting this! I’d never heard of her before and I like her sound a lot.

If I had a Tron poster to wrap it in, I’d use it in a heartbeat as proper homage to our Chuck bond. P.S. An apology to Whitney, who I believe has mentioned she’s had it with the Larsson craze. I can sense you throwing up a little in your mouth all the way from down here in America’s undercarriage. I’m sorry! Lisbeth Salander is addictive.

Friends let Tumblr friends borrow books

I put The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest on hold at the library this morning and found out I’d be #108 on the library reserve list. I know I will like it, because the other two books of the trilogy sucked me in … but it will be too violent for me to read again, so I don’t want to pay the money to buy it. And I’d prefer to read it sooner rather than in 2011.

So the amazing Gwyn, who I believe resides in Florida(?), is going to be a terrific Tumblr pal and mail me her copy to borrow. And I want to send her one of my books so we can do a book borrow-swap.

Gwyn, here are some books I own that I think you might enjoy (in the order of how much I think you’d like them):

  • My Year of Meats, Ruth Ozeki
  • The Outlander, Gil Adamson
  • Prodigal Summer or The Bean Trees, Barbara Kingsolver (I also have The Lacuna)
  • The Magician’s Assistant, Anne Patchett (one of my favorite, favorite books)

My bad.  I do not generally make it a point to avoid the reblog, I promise. Please accept this giant container of cheese puffs as a sign of my sincerest apology. In fact, also accept, for a separate occasion when you’ve managed to eat the orange monstrosity, this Guitar Hero, bottle of whiskey, and hogtied clone of Joshua Gomez. I was saving the stash for myself in case the time came that I needed to sit in front of the television in my underwear, eventually misquoting Pretty in Pink to the dismay of my little hogtied buddy, but you can have it all instead. P.S. Almost tagged this with “Chuck Buddies,” but then realized that could come across as a little off to people who came at it unprepared. So I postscripted the thought instead. Seems a fair compromise.
