Leslie Caron by David Hurn 1962
One of the many surprising things I’ve learned from Pictures at a Revolution is that Warren Beatty was having an affair with “older” actress Leslie Caron in the mid ’60s. That seems a strange coupling to me.

Currently immersed in this book about the making of the five 1967 Oscar nominees for Best Picture (In the Heat of the Night, Bonnie and Clyde, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, The Graduate and Dr. Doolittle) . I didn’t expect it to be so engaging; Pictures at a Revolution is straight-up fascinating.
I love learning more about the personalities behind the films — even Dr. Doolittle!
