Barbara Stanwyck in “Lady of Burlesque” (1943).
I have this one on DVD (a friend is currently borrowing it). It’s a comedy-mystery based on a story by Gypsy Rose Lee.

From Lady of Burlesque, a lesser-known Barbara Stanwyck flick. I own the DVD of it because a) it’s a cute little film I can put on while building an IKEA coffee table, b) I enjoy the sparks between Stanwyck’s stripper character and the guy who plays the comic, and c) it’s based on a murder-mystery story by Gypsy Rose Lee.
