This was a very fun show!
I took the day off work yesterday to attend Gomez’s afternoon ACL taping. It was as wonderful as I hoped, even if they didn’t play “Girlshapedlovedrug.”
My Gomez live performance count is now at: 4. This was the first time I’ve seen them without my friend G, but she couldn’t miss work, sadface. Instead I took my friend K (Gomez newbie!), along with my pastor/friend J and his friend visiting from out of town. They all enjoyed it!

Attended their Austin City Limits taping tonight. I wish I could have seen them a little better, but at least the sound was fantastic. It will be a good episode… keep an eye out for it.

Get to see Robyn here in less than a month!!!! Not that I’m excited or anything.
Hey, hey — the Band of Horses ACL ep airs this week on PBS! (with the National, if you’re into that band, which I’m not, really)

re: new ACL studio:
Unfortunately, the establishment of a liquor license for the facility also means the end of the free beer at ACL tapings. Neece counters, “At least the bathrooms will be on the same floor.”
See the gal to the bottom left of the screen clapping and shrieking loudly upon recognition of which song he’s playing? Not my proudest moment. BUT this is my favorite Nick Lowe song (and thanks to KLRU I got to see him for free!). [Austin City Limits - Nick Lowe “All Men Are Liars”]
update: my sister requested that I thank her as well, since she’s the one who won the tix for Nick Lowe. However, I feel since I won the tix for the Gnarls Barkley ACL taping and took her, we are even.
