Now I am really glad I didn’t go into book publishing - I did consider it when I was in school (I even interned at a book publisher for two summers and a January). A once-“recession proof” industry is no longer as Random House Inc., Simon & Schuster and MacMillan are among the many publishers who have reported layoffs in the past two months.
